Radio1 and Creators Family Church donates to Koforidua Prison

Radio1 and Creators Family Church made a donation to the Koforidua Prison in the Eastern Region.

The items included 12 bags of rice, 200 bags of water, 2 bags of beans, 2 bags of sugar, and 10 bags of gari.

Presenting the items, the founding pastor of Creators Family Church Rev. Danso Okrah said he was thrilled to join the inmates of the prison, whom he called his brothers and sisters, having received the blessings of God.

“As true Christians, this should be part of our responsibilities because some were once having a normal life like ours but circumstances put them in this situation, therefore, it is our duty to support them,” he encouraged.

2 I C Supt. Francis Kwakye received the items on behalf of the Camp Prison.

He expressed the gratitude of the authorities and inmates of the Koforidua Prison to Radio1 and Creators Family Church for their kind gesture and expressed the hope that the items would go a long way in putting smiles on the faces of the inmates whom the state spent GH₵1.80p on each inmate a day.

“We are really grateful to Radio1 since we told them our situation they have frequently supported us and now this. Thank you very much. I will take your big platform to ask for more from individuals and organizations to also come to our aid,” he said.

“Donations like this make the inmates feel a sense of belongingness so that when they go out they don’t wage war on society,” he added.

“But if we are not treating them like this and we shun them, anytime they go out, they become peeved and when they are peeved, the consequences are not good at all as they will not spare us,” he stated.

So, it is good that we will come to their aid from time to time”, he noted.
