For lawmakers that stoked demonstrators’ anger, here is the list of 2020 GETFund scholarships.

Some online activists dedicated themselves to provide government-backed statistics during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstrations to support the call for action and the change protesters were demanding.

Protesters online shared data from economic indicators, employment statistics, government intervention programs, and spending, particularly by the executive branch of government, using the official hashtag #OccupyJulorbiHouse.

But when a single data set was offered, it caused a huge uproar.

The scholarship secretariat’s 2020 list is the source of that information. The listing of sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) and politically connected individuals who benefited to the tune of thousands of dollars is the specific cause for outrage.

Many people criticized the political class for profiting from the hardship of the populace after apparently seeing the GETFund Scholarships report by the Auditor-General for the first time.

Sarah Adwoa Safo, a member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya, received USD30,000 for a Harvard conference, while Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the minister of employment and labor relations, and Matthew Opoku Prempeh also received funding for programs.
