Kwesi Pratt has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in response to the video that was leaked and showed senior police officers COP Alex Mensah and Superintendent George Asare discussing their scheme to have Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, removed.
The policemen on the aforementioned recording accuse the IGP of actions that could cost the New Patriotic Party the elections of 2024.
A Parliamentary Committee is currently looking into the officers and Bugri Naabu, and it has been made known that the President rejected pressing for a replacement Inspector General of Police.
Kwesi Pratt discussed this on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” program and praised the President for standing firm in his choice to keep Dr. Dampare in his job despite allegations that he had political ties to the opposition National Democratic Congress.
If the President actually did that, he should be commended. We commend the President if what Bugri Naabu and company are alleging is accurate and he did indeed reject the lobbying and other efforts. We bow down to the President for not allowing partisan motivations to influence him.
