MTN Ghana meets media and stakeholders in the Eastern Region

MTN Ghana shares its achievements, vision, and challenges with the media and stakeholders in the Eastern Region.


On Wednesday, 13th September, 2023, MTN Ghana held a media and stakeholder engagement session at the Eastern Premier Hotel in the Eastern Region.

The session was aimed at showcasing the achievements, vision, and challenges of MTN Ghana over the years of operation in the country.


Mrs Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, the Head of Corporate Communications for MTN Ghana, highlighted some of the achievements of MTN Ghana, such as:


• Contributing over Ghs 4.0 billion to government revenue in 2022
• Investing GHS 93.2 million in social impact projects that benefited over 4.5 million Ghanaians
• Supporting Ghana’s Digital Agenda with a USD 25 million ICT hub investment that will empower the youth


Mrs Georgina Asare Fiagbenu also shared MTN Ghana’s digital vision, which involves four major shifts to reach maturity.

She said that MTN Ghana is on track to invest one billion dollars in network expansion by the end of 2025.

She also mentioned that MTN Ghana has partnered with Vodafone to enable merchant interoperability, which promotes industry viability.


Mr Faisal Ali, Mobile Money Manager, and Mr Samuel Duku, Regional Technical Manager, concluded the session by addressing some of the challenges that MTN Ghana has faced over the years.

They cited Mobile Money fraud as one of the challenges and urged those who are educated on it to spread the awareness to those who are vulnerable.

Network challenges which is caused by fiber cut has been one of our challenges but we trying our possible best to solve these.”
