Afriyie Akoto, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), wrote on X that he is the best candidate to lead the party before the general elections in 2024. Nana Aba Anamoah, a well-known media figure, responded to the article.
He asserts that he possesses the necessary abilities to assist the NPP in ending its eight-year tenure in government, something the party has never before accomplished in its existence.
Broadcaster Serwaa Amihere published the post on X, quoting Dr. Afryie Akoto as saying, “I am capable of breaking the 8 in the 2024 election.”
Nana Aba Anamoah joked in reaction to the article that the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) is more likely to break an 8 than Dr. Afriyie Akoto.“He [Afriyie Akoto] is not PRESEC to break any 8.”
You may remember that PRESEC defeated Achimota Senior High School and Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) to win its seventh trophy in the National Science and Maths Quiz.
November 4, 2023, is the scheduled date of the NPP primaries.The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, the former Member of Parliament for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, and the former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie are the four candidates.
