The Need To Participate In Local Governance And Enhance Democracy

The National Commission for Civic Education, (NCCE) in the Fanteakwa South District-Osino engaged citizens at Saamang Community in the Eastern Region on the upcoming District Level Elections (DLE).

This exercise forms part of the Commission’s public education activities.

Mr. Joseph Wiafe Boateng (CEO) sensitized the general public on the need to participate in Local Governance and enhance democracy.

Mr Joseph Wiafe Boateng (CEO) also entreated citizen to go and cast their ballot on the election day peacefully.

He reiterated that as a Ghanaian who has attained eighteen years and above and is of sound mind and has a valid voter identication card can go and cast the vote to select both Assembly man and Unit Committee members on the election day. Also he educated the electorate to go home immediately they cast their ballot and come back at the close of poll for election results.

He further educated them on the voting processes in other to avoid spoilt ballots. The activity took place on 16th December, 2023 at 6:30am
