King Faisal owner Alhaji Grusah has revealed that he has received death threats after participating in the ‘Save Ghana Football’ demonstration against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The former Black Stars management committee member claims that he has received threatening calls from unknown individuals, including a member of the GFA, warning him against continuing his criticism of the organisation.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Grusah stated, “I’ve been threatened with death by some faceless cowards, and the audio is on my phone. I own myself and run my football team with my own money, so I can do whatever I want. Kill me, and see if you can find another Alhaji Grusah to kill.”
He added, “You’re mismanaging our football, and we’re calling you out, so why the threat? You all know my house (Kumasi and Accra), so come kill me and claim Ghana football as your birthright. I won’t mention names, but they are aware of themselves.”
Grusah demanded an apology from those who have threatened him, stressing that he will not be intimidated into silence.
He also revealed that he has recorded the threatening calls and will report the matter to the police once he receives approval from his lawyer.
The outspoken football administrator believes that the brain behind the threats is a member of the FA, although indirectly.
He warned that he is ready for a showdown with the individual responsible for the threats and will only stop speaking out against the GFA when the person apologises to him.
