Mechanic jailed nine years for defiling 15-year-old girl

David Gamor, 33-year-old Mechanic of Asamankese Old Zongo has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment in hard labor for Defiling a 15-year-old girl, Contrary to Section 101(2) of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960(Act 29).

The accused pleaded guilty to the charge in the Asamankese Circuit Court Presided Over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams and was convicted on his plea.

Prosecution, Inspector Samuel Owusu told the Court that the complainant in this Case is a trader and resident of Asamankese and the Victim age 15 years is a student of Asamankese Anum M/A A&D JHS 3 and a biological daughter to the compliant.

He said the accused person is a Mechanic and resident at Old Zongo but has his shop located at the Estate where the complainant sells.

The statement said On Tuesday 20″ day of June 2023 at 5:00am, complainant sent victim to cart bread at Bronoso suburb of Asamankese for sale at her shop. Around 5:45am on reaching Old Zongo, accused spotted the victim and called her under the pretext of buying bread.

Accused took four Cedis worth of bread and gave victim Gh¢20.00 but she could not get change for him and gave his money back to him. Accused returned to his room and invited the victim in for the money.

Upon entering, accused
forcibly had sexual intercourse with the victim whilst in her menstruation. Victim could not disclosed her ordeal till Wednesday 21/06/2023 when she felt sick at school and was brought home. after taking some medication without feeling better, she was frightened and narrated her ordeal to complainant.

On21/06/23, a report was made to District DOVVSU, Asamankese and medical issued to the victim and Same was returned dully endorsed.

Accused was arrested 23/06/23 and during investigation he denied the offence. And after thorough investigation they were charged with offences as stated in the charge sheet.
