Ferry missing on Afram River with MP JAB1 and several passengers

Reports from Agoo FM News indicate that a ferry carrying both goods and passengers is currently unaccounted for.

The disappearance occurred following a severe thunderstorm at 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Earlier, the ferry experienced mechanical issues, leaving goods and passengers stranded at Ekye Amanfrom and Adawsu.

While engineers managed to resolve the problem, the ferry encountered adverse weather conditions while traveling from Adawsu to Ekye Amanfrom, ultimately going missing on the Afram River.

According to a passenger John Maconi, among those on board is the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South constituency, Joseph Appiah Boateng, also known as JAB1.

Additionally, the area is experiencing a complete blackout, complicating efforts for identification and rescue operations.
