Power cuts: Mahama solved ‘dumsor’ but Akufo-Addo has brought it back – Omane Boamah

The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has said the era of erratic power supply christened “Dumsor” has been brought back under the Akufo-Addo administration despite the problem being solved by former President John Dramani Mahama.

Parts of the country, especially the capital are lately experiencing power cuts. This forced the Minority in Parliament to demand that the government immediately release the schedule for the load-shedding.

In the view of the opposition, the country is experiencing load shedding, hence there should be a timetable.

Addressing Journalists in Parliament on Thursday February 29, the Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu, John Jinapor said “We are reliably informed that dumsor will continue today at 12:00 and it’s only fair that Ghanaians are made aware.”

The Minority spokesperson for Energy said the government is unable to purchase enough fuel to power some of the thermal plants due to financial constraints, leading to generation challenges.

“The best this government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia can do is to publish the schedule of the ongoing dumsor, so people can plan their lives,” he said.

Adding his voice to this discussion, Dr Omane Boamah in a statement said “Mahama also completed the Atuabo Gas Processing plant to augment supply of fuel for the power sector.

“He did not blame his predecessors! Yet, the clueless economist said don’t praise Mahama for solving dumsor and some of you bought into the clueless economist’s unparalled naivety. Mahama never asked for praise!

“The NPP even blamed Mahama for providing excess capacity… You remember? Today, 2nd March, 2024, I ask where is the excess capacity? And why are Ghanaians living in dumsor with “excess capacity?”

“Why are Ghanaians suffering from Diabetes of “excess power capacity” such that in the abundance of sugar (power generation capacity) the body cells (homes and businesses in Ghana) lack power and suffering dumsor?”

The Diabetes of “Excess Power Capacity”: Akufo-Addo & Bawumia, Why Are Ghanaians Living in Dumsor with Mahama’s “Excess Capacity”?

John Dramani Mahama provided over 800 million watts (800 megawatts) of power to solve dumsor.

With this important intervention, he solved dumsor and positioned Ghana for higher productivity, progress and prosperity.

Mahama also completed the Atuabo Gas Processing plant to augment supply of fuel for the power sector.

He did not blame his predecessors!

Find evidence from the Greenbook attached (As for those who still unjustifiably  question the Greenbook which vividly captures evidence of Mahama’s monumental achievements, it doesn’t matter your political affiliation and your social status, you’re as clueless as Bawumia).
