The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, has reportedly been flown out of Ghana to receive urgent medical treatment after a reported deterioration in his health.
The development was disclosed in a post on X by Jasper Ziggle on April 23, 2026. According to the post, Mr. Baffoe’s condition worsened in the aftermath of his recent arrest.
Abronye DC was arrested on April 13, 2026, by the Ghana Police Service Criminal Investigations Department over allegations of false publication and issuing threats against a judge.
Subsequent reports indicate that his health declined significantly following his release from police custody, necessitating the decision to seek specialized medical care abroad.
He is said to have travelled in the company of his wife, Portia Acheampong, and Dr. Edwina Baffoe James, both of whom are reportedly overseeing his treatment.
As of now, official details regarding his medical condition and the destination of his treatment have not been publicly disclosed.
