IGP Promotes Tema Police Officers for Exceptional Operational Performance

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven officers of the Ghana Police Service in recognition of their outstanding performance during a recent anti-robbery operation in Tema.

The promotions, announced on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, were awarded to officers who swiftly responded to a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor at Tema Community 5. The operation resulted in the shooting of two robbery suspects and the retrieval of a firearm, ammunition, and other exhibits.

The officers elevated to their next ranks are Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed (No. 45881), Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru (No. 49900), Corporal Jerome Akator (No. 54157), and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah (No. 59882).

In a commendation ceremony attended by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), the IGP praised the officers for their bravery, discipline, and dedication to duty. He urged them to see their promotions as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged all personnel to uphold professionalism in the service of the nation.
