The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has hosted Chief Executive Officers within Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry to an exclusive breakfast meeting in Accra aimed at strengthening stakeholder engagement and promoting strategic growth within the sector.
The high-level engagement sought to enhance collaboration between the regulator and industry players, improve the regulatory framework, and create opportunities for networking and sustainable industry development.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Richard Gyan-Mensah.
Leading the NPA delegation was the Chief Executive of the Authority, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., alongside Deputy Chief Executive Dr. Sheila Addo and members of the Authority’s Executive Committee.

Addressing participants, Mr. Tameklo acknowledged the impact of recent geopolitical tensions and conflicts across parts of the world on global energy markets. Despite these challenges, he assured industry stakeholders that Ghana remains confident in its petroleum pricing policy framework and supply security arrangements.

He noted that government interventions introduced over recent pricing windows were carefully designed with consideration for the sustainability of businesses within the sector.
“Government interventions over the past two windows (GHS2.00 per litre on diesel and GHp36 per litre on petrol) and the next two windows (GHS1.07 per litre on diesel) were well thought through, with the risks to your businesses very well considered,” he stated.

Hon. Dr. Jinapor reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to support economic growth and stability.
The meeting concluded with participants agreeing on a number of strategic actions aimed at growing and sustaining Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
