Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has called for the emergence of a new generation of African leaders equipped with strategic foresight, discipline, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service in the face of evolving global and regional security challenges.

Speaking at the matriculation ceremony for Course 3 of the National College of Defence Studies at Burma Camp, Hon. Debrah addressed participants from Ghana and several African countries who have enrolled to advance their expertise in strategic leadership, national security, and governance.

In his address, the Chief of Staff stressed the urgent need for security and policy leaders who possess not only academic excellence but also the capacity to navigate today’s increasingly complex security environment.

He underscored the importance of stronger collaboration among African states in tackling emerging threats, including terrorism, violent extremism, cyber insecurity, political instability, and transnational crime.

According to him, these challenges require coordinated leadership, collective responsibility, and sustained regional cooperation to safeguard peace and stability across the continent.

Hon. Debrah further reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Ghana, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, to strengthening the country’s national security architecture and promoting enduring peace, resilience, and stability.

He noted that Africa’s future would continue to depend on courageous, ethical, and visionary leaders who are dedicated to serving with patriotism and advancing the collective good of the people.

The National College of Defence Studies is expected to play a critical role in shaping strategic thinkers and future leaders capable of addressing contemporary security and governance challenges across Africa.
