Hon. Ofosu-Adjare commended Morocco’s leadership role in advancing the African Continental Free Trade Area and stressed the importance of addressing non-tariff barriers to facilitate smoother intra-African trade.
She also highlighted Ghana’s flagship 24-Hour Economy initiative, describing it as a transformative policy designed to boost industrial productivity, stimulate economic growth, and attract foreign investment. Additionally, she pointed to ongoing reforms under the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, aimed at enhancing the country’s competitiveness and creating a more investor-friendly environment.
In response, Hon. Zidane referenced the landmark 2017 visit of Mohammed VI to Ghana, noting its lasting impact on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties. He encouraged Ghana to increase its export volumes to Morocco and proposed the swift organisation of a Business and Investment Forum to accelerate partnerships between the two nations.
The Ghanaian delegation also engaged with Omar Hejira, who reaffirmed Morocco’s recognition of Ghana as a strategic partner. He highlighted Morocco’s progress in key sectors including renewable energy, infrastructure, finance, pharmaceuticals, and aviation—areas identified as having strong potential for collaboration.
Both sides expressed firm commitment to organising the proposed Business and Investment Forum to promote business-to-business engagement and unlock shared economic potential.
The visit was capped with a formal ceremony in honour of the Ghanaian delegation, underscoring the growing diplomatic and economic relationship between Ghana and Morocco.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare is accompanied by Charity Gbedawo, Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and the Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
