MTN Ghana Supports SMEs With Business Training In Koforidua

The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN) Ghana has trained over 200 personnel from Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Koforidua in the Eastern Region as part of its corporate social responsibility.
According to the company, the training was organised to help small businesses grow and remain sustainable.

The SMEs Business Clinic was designed to help business owners improve their branding and manage their finances effectively to avoid business collapse.
The two-day program was held at the Capital View Hotel in Koforidua on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, under the theme, “Setting Up Business For Growth.”

Speaking to journalists, Abubakari-Sidick Mohammed, Senior Sales Manager of MTN Ghana in charge of SMEs, said small businesses contribute about 80 percent to Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He also explained that SMEs have created over 95 percent of jobs in Ghana, showing the importance of supporting such businesses to grow and succeed.
Mr. Mohammed encouraged participants to create proper websites to advertise their products and attract customers from outside the country. He stressed the importance of digital presence in today’s business environment.

He further noted that the SME Business Clinic program has already been organized in the Volta, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions.
According to him, MTN Ghana plans to extend the program to three more regions to help businesses improve their position in the market, create more jobs, and help reduce unemployment in the country.
