The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga South, Hon. Moses Kabu Kubi Ocansey, has commissioned the newly upgraded Fankyinekor Health Centre and called on residents to make full use of the facility while supporting healthcare workers to deliver quality medical services.

Addressing chiefs, elders and community members at the commissioning ceremony, the MCE stated that the facility reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and fulfilling its development agenda.

According to him, the current administration has demonstrated its commitment to completing and enhancing projects initiated by previous governments rather than abandoning them.

“The commissioning of this facility is clear evidence that the government remains committed to delivering on its promises to the people,” he said, assuring residents that more development projects would be undertaken across the municipality.

Hon. Ocansey also disclosed that efforts are underway to secure the completion of an abandoned GETFund project in the area to improve educational infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for schoolchildren.

He commended the chiefs, elders and people of Fankyinekor for making land available for development projects, noting that their cooperation has contributed significantly to the community’s growth.

The MCE explained that the project was originally designed as a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound under the previous administration. However, following consultations involving the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor, and the Municipal Director of Health Services, the project was upgraded into a fully-fledged Health Centre to provide enhanced healthcare services to residents.

He encouraged community members to have confidence in healthcare professionals and patronize the facility whenever they require medical attention.

Hon. Ocansey concluded by expressing gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and participation in the successful completion and commissioning of the health facility.
