Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Boakye Agyarko, has intensified his nationwide campaign with a series of engagements in the Northern Region, where he met the Regional Council of Elders and Patrons, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives, and other key party stakeholders in Yendi and Tamale.

The meetings formed part of his campaign to secure the party’s top organisational position ahead of the NPP’s national delegates conference.

During the engagements, the Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Hon. Alhassan Tampuli, and the Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Hon. Matthew Nyindam, speaking on behalf of Members of Parliament from the Northern enclave, publicly declared their support for Mr. Agyarko’s bid for the National Chairmanship.

Addressing party faithful, Mr. Agyarko underscored the importance of unity, discipline, improved welfare, and strategic reforms to rebuild, reunite, and reposition the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.

He noted that while Ghanaians would ultimately assess the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) based on its performance in office, the NPP must also focus on strengthening its internal structures, reconnecting with its grassroots base, and restoring confidence among party members.

Mr. Agyarko further reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and all stakeholders to build a united and effective campaign machinery capable of returning the party to power in 2028.

As part of his visit, the National Chairman hopeful donated 500 bags of cement and an undisclosed amount of money towards the construction of the NPP Northern Regional Office. He later inspected the project site to assess the progress of work.

He expressed gratitude to the Northern Regional leadership, Council of Elders, Patrons, Constituency Executives, and grassroots members for the warm reception and support they accorded him during the tour.

Mr. Agyarko said the engagement reinforced his belief that a united and well-organised party would be better positioned to regain power in the next general elections.
