President John Dramani Mahama has returned to Ghana following official visits to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Belarus, where he engaged in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, attracting investment, and advancing Ghana’s development agenda.

During his visit to the United Kingdom, President Mahama participated in the Ghana Investment Summit, which attracted investors from across Europe. He noted growing international confidence in Ghana’s economy, attributing the renewed interest to improved economic performance and a more favourable investment climate.

A major highlight of the visit was the signing of the Ghana–UK Growth and Investment Partnership, a framework designed to deepen economic relations and shift bilateral engagement from traditional aid dependency towards trade and investment.

President Mahama also held bilateral talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, focusing on political and economic cooperation, as well as security challenges in the Sahel region. He further met with King Charles III and visited Ghanaian-owned businesses operating in the UK. In recognition of Ghana’s strong market performance, he was honoured at the London Stock Exchange.

In Belarus, the President secured a number of strategic agreements aimed at boosting trade, agriculture, and technical cooperation. These included the establishment of a Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, enhanced collaboration between the two countries’ Chambers of Commerce, and strengthened agricultural partnerships.

President Mahama also announced the signing of a visa waiver agreement and revealed plans for Belarusian technical assistance to support efforts to improve agricultural productivity in Ghana.
