The Ministry warned motorists and pedestrians against driving or walking through flooded roads, bridges, and waterways, stressing that rising floodwaters pose a serious threat to life and property.
To respond to the situation, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Ghana Armed Forces, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and other emergency response agencies have been deployed to monitor affected areas, manage traffic, assist stranded residents, and conduct rescue operations where necessary.
Residents living in flood-prone communities have been advised to relocate to higher ground where it is safe to do so and to promptly report emergencies or persons in distress to the nearest security or emergency response agency.
The Ministry further called on the public to remain calm, cooperate with emergency personnel, and rely solely on official sources for updates and information regarding the evolving situation.
