The presentation, held in Elmina ahead of the festival’s grand durbar on Monday, July 7, reflects ADB’s continued commitment to promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and strengthening its relationship with the communities it serves.

The donation is intended to support activities marking this year’s Bakatue Festival, one of Ghana’s most celebrated traditional festivals. Bakatue, which translates as “opening of the lagoon,” signifies the traditional New Year of the Edina people and celebrates the commencement of the fishing season while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Central Region.
