GA SOUTH MCE HANDS OVER 1,600 DESKS TO IMPROVE LEARNING IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Ga South Municipal Assembly has handed over 1,600 classroom desks to the Municipal Directorate of Education in a major effort to improve teaching and learning conditions across public schools in the municipality.
The presentation, led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Moses Kabu Kubi Ocansey, was attended by the Member of Parliament for Domeabra Obom Constituency, Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor, and the Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, Hon. Felix Akwetey Okle. The donation comprised 800 dual desks and 800 mono desks, which will be distributed to schools facing the most critical furniture shortages.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ocansey reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening the education sector, stressing that adequate classroom furniture is essential to creating a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. He noted that the initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader agenda to enhance educational infrastructure and improve learning outcomes for pupils across the municipality.
The two Members of Parliament also pledged their continued support for efforts aimed at improving educational facilities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in ensuring every child has access to a safe, comfortable, and quality learning environment.

Receiving the desks on behalf of the Ghana Education Service, the Municipal Director of Education expressed appreciation to the Assembly and the two MPs for the timely intervention. The Director assured stakeholders that the furniture would be distributed transparently and equitably to beneficiary schools to maximize its impact.
The initiative underscores the Ga South Municipal Assembly’s commitment to investing in education and working with key stakeholders to provide quality infrastructure that supports academic excellence and the overall development of children within the municipality.
