MTN Ghana Donates GH¢30,000 to Support Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council

MTN Ghana has donated GH¢30,000, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime, and a drinks hamper to the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in support of this year’s traditional celebrations, reaffirming its commitment to preserving Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and promoting community development.

The donation was presented on Wednesday, July 1, by Mr. Ransford Gyan, Area Sales Manager for the Eastern Region, on behalf of the management and staff of MTN Ghana.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Gyan conveyed the warm greetings of MTN Ghana to Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the chiefs, elders, and people of Akyem Abuakwa, expressing the company’s appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the celebration.

He noted that the occasion was particularly significant as MTN Ghana marks its 30th anniversary under the theme “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You.” He said that over the past three decades, the company has evolved beyond a telecommunications provider into a purpose-driven organisation committed to enabling progress, connecting communities, and transforming lives across Ghana.

According to Mr. Gyan, MTN believes that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life, a principle that continues to drive the company’s investments in technology, community development, and strategic partnerships.
He said MTN remains committed to being a force for good by supporting initiatives that promote social and economic development while creating shared value for customers and communities.

As part of its support for the celebration, MTN Ghana presented a cash donation of GH¢30,000, GH¢2,000 worth of MTN airtime, and a drinks hamper to the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council.
Mr. Gyan described the contribution as a token of the company’s appreciation and expressed the hope that it would contribute to the successful organisation of the festivities.

He commended Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the chiefs, and elders for their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Akyem Abuakwa while promoting peace, unity, and development within the traditional area.
Mr. Gyan reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with communities across the country, stating that the company looks forward to continuing its partnership with Akyem Abuakwa in advancing development and improving lives.

He wished the Okyenhene, the chiefs, elders, and people of Akyem Abuakwa a peaceful, memorable, and successful celebration, expressing the hope that the occasion would further strengthen unity among the people and bring renewed prosperity and blessings to the traditional area.
