The Chief Home Officer of MTN Ghana, Richard Acheampong, has said the real value of MTN Home Fibre is not just its high internet speed but the reliable and uninterrupted experience it offers to customers.
Speaking during a media engagement, Mr. Acheampong said the average 4G internet speed is about 10 Mbps, while MTN Home Fibre delivers speeds of up to 500 Mbps, making it ideal for homes, businesses and students.
He explained that the higher speed allows customers to stream 8K videos without buffering, attend online meetings, take virtual classes, watch YouTube smoothly and connect several devices at the same time.
According to him, customers should focus on the value of a reliable internet connection rather than the price.

“The conversation is not about price. It is about value,” he said. “You realise the importance of good internet when it fails during a job interview, an important business meeting or while working online.”
Mr. Acheampong described fibre broadband as a long-term investment that gives users stable and dependable internet every day.
He said home internet has become an important part of daily life, helping children with their studies, allowing people to work from home, lecturers to teach online and families to enjoy entertainment without interruptions.
He also dismissed claims that fibre internet is only for wealthy households. According to him, MTN’s research shows that many families use home internet mainly for education and learning.
He said providing reliable internet helps reduce the digital gap by giving children from all backgrounds equal access to online learning and opportunities.
“Our mission is to make sure every child, no matter where they live, has access to the same digital opportunities,” he said.
Mr. Acheampong explained that although customers simply want internet that works, delivering that experience requires a strong and reliable network infrastructure.
He compared it to water flowing through pipes, saying people do not worry about the size of the pipe but expect water to flow whenever they turn on the tap.
He noted that MTN has invested in a strong fibre network to ensure customers enjoy fast, stable and reliable internet at all times.
Mr. Acheampong also outlined the process for getting MTN Home Fibre. He said customers can use the MyMTN App to check if fibre is available in their area, apply for the service, make payments through Mobile Money or bank cards, and schedule installation.
After installation, MTN engineers test the connection before activating the service.
He added that MTN provides after-sales support and has introduced self-help videos to guide customers on proper router placement and basic troubleshooting.
According to him, placing a router inside wardrobes or enclosed spaces can reduce internet performance, and customers should position their routers properly for the best experience.
Mr. Acheampong reaffirmed MTN Ghana’s commitment to providing reliable home internet services that support education, business, remote work, security and entertainment.
“Our responsibility is to deliver an internet experience that is reliable, consistent and valuable every day,” he said.
