The Nkosohemaa of Koforidua, Nana Fofi N’Krabea, has called on Africans in the diaspora to remain proud of their cultural heritage, reconnect with their ancestral roots, and return home to contribute to Africa’s development.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Radio1 100.7 FM’s Oman Mu Nsem morning show with host Nana Kwabena Addo (Mr. Prez on Radio) on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Nana Fofi N’Krabea delivered the message during a discussion on the programme “Koti-Kooti: The Ghana Experience”, themed “Breaking the Chains of Slavery.”
She encouraged people of African descent living abroad never to be ashamed of their identity, traditions, or languages.
“Never forget your roots. Be proud of your traditions, do not be shy to speak your language, and come back home,” she urged.
According to Nana Fofi N’Krabea, the event is being organised in collaboration with the traditional authorities of Asiakwa under the auspices of Dr. Dasebre Twum, the Chief of Asiakwa.
She explained that the celebration will begin with a colourful float from Akyem Adokrom to the Asiakwa Chief’s Palace. As part of the traditional activities, schools within the Asiakwa area will present firewood to the chiefs and elders, marking the end of the ban on drumming and noise-making.

Nana Fofi N’Krabea noted that the programme seeks to strengthen the bond between Ghana and the African diaspora while promoting unity, cultural pride, and a deeper appreciation of Ghana’s rich traditions.
