Mr. Odame Bentil has officially expressed his intention to contest for the position of Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Abuakwa South Constituency.

Speaking on Radio1 100.7 FM’s “Oman Mu Nsem” morning show, hosted by Nana Kwabena Addo, popularly known in the media as Mr. Prez on Radio, Mr. Bentil outlined his vision and plans for the constituency’s communications wing if given the mandate by delegates.

According to him, his priority will be to establish a strong and well-organised communications secretariat at the municipal level, which will serve as a central point for coordinating communications activities and addressing issues relating to the party’s communication needs.

He said the secretariat would also help mobilise resources specifically to support communications duties and activities within the constituency.

Mr. Bentil further disclosed plans to train young people in modern communication skills, particularly in the use of digital and social media platforms, to effectively communicate government policies, programmes and achievements at the district, regional and national levels.

“We are now in a technological era, and we must take advantage of social media to communicate the good works of the government to the people,” he said.

The communications hopeful also promised an open-door leadership style, assuring party members and supporters that he would remain accessible to everyone.

He stressed that, if elected, he would not allow power to change his attitude towards people and would make himself available to listen to the concerns of party members.

Mr. Bentil described himself as a team player with practical experience in communications, adding that he is prepared to work closely with the constituency executives and other stakeholders to strengthen the NDC’s communication machinery in Abuakwa South.

He appealed to delegates to consider his experience, humility, respect and commitment and give him the opportunity to serve as the next Constituency Communications Officer.

He pledged that he would work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him and would not disappoint the delegates if elected.

Mr. Odame Bentil is a degree holder and a professional General Nurse, with a background and interest in communications. He believes his professional experience, communication skills and understanding of the field position him to contribute meaningfully to the NDC’s communications efforts in the Abuakwa South Constituency.
