Shatta Wale slams Sammy Flex, Shatta Movement team after ShattaFest UK controversy

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has publicly criticised members of his management team and the Shatta Movement following the controversy surrounding the cancelled ShattaFest UK event.
The musician expressed disappointment with people within his camp, claiming he bears the financial responsibility of keeping the Shatta Movement running while others contribute little to its growth.
His remarks come days after ShattaFest UK was cancelled following an incident that reportedly caused a crowd surge, leaving several people in need of medical attention.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session on Monday, August 3, 2026, Shatta Wale questioned the level of support he receives from members of his team, insisting that he is solely responsible for raising funds to sustain the movement.

“They are all fools. I am the only person managing the entire Shatta Movement, and no one gives me money. No one in my crew can say they bring in money. They are always there, and I am the one who goes out to look for money to support them and keep the team going,” he said.
The award-winning artiste further alleged that some members of his inner circle fail to make the most of opportunities that could generate income for the movement.
“When I send them to the house of a billionaire, they can’t even bring me money. Even the fans create opportunities for me, yet the people closest to me can’t do anything to help me,” he added.
Shatta Wale also directed criticism at his public relations manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, accusing him of not doing enough to promote his brand through his podcast.
According to the dancehall star, the programme spends too much time discussing fellow artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla instead of focusing on content that promotes the Shatta Wale brand.
“Recently, I was talking to Sammy Flex. I told him to stop talking about Stonebwoy on the podcast every single day. He still thinks we are in the radio era. He doesn’t understand the podcast he is doing,” Shatta Wale stated.
His latest comments have added to the fallout from the cancelled ShattaFest UK event, with the musician openly questioning the commitment and effectiveness of key members of his team while calling for greater support behind the Shatta Movement.
