“ Communication Mast Does Not Cause Cancer” – NDC Communicator Questions Okyere Baafi’s Claims

An NDC Communications Team Member, Mr. Baba Alhassan, has questioned claims surrounding the alleged health effects of a communication mast being constructed in the New Juaben South Municipality.
According to Mr. Baba Alhassan, there is no credible basis for claims that a communication mast causes cancer, and he questioned where the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi, obtained such health advice.
Mr. Baba Alhassan was reacting to the controversy surrounding the construction of a communication mast at the Regional Capital Station in Kumasi.
He alleged that the MP’s opposition to the project could be an attempt to frustrate a development initiative being undertaken by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ransford Boakye.

According to him, rather than creating controversy over the project, the MP should collaborate with the MCE and other stakeholders to bring more development to the municipality.
“I was expecting the MP to collaborate with the MCE to bring development to the municipality,” Mr. Baba Alhassan stated.
He further expressed concern about some of the statements allegedly made by Hon. Okyere Baafi, arguing that they do not portray him as a person supporting development in the municipality.
Mr. Baba Alhassan made these comments when he appeared on Radio1 100.7 FM’s morning show, Oman Mu Nsem, hosted by Nana Kwabena Addo, popularly known as Mr. Prez on Radio.
The controversy over the communication mast and its potential health implications continues to generate public discussion, with calls for the relevant authorities and experts to provide clear information to residents.
