DVLA Opens New Yendi Office to Improve Services Along Eastern Corridor

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has officially commissioned its new office in Yendi as part of efforts to expand access to its services across the country.

The new facility is expected to serve residents in Yendi and communities along the Eastern Corridor, including Kpandai, Wulensi, Bimbilla, Zabzugu, Tatale, Gusheigu, Karaga, and Saboba.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations at the DVLA, Yeboah Iddisah Seidu, said the establishment of the office demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to providing accessible, efficient, and customer-focused services nationwide.

He explained that the new office would ease the difficulties faced by residents who previously travelled long distances to access services such as vehicle registration, driver’s licence acquisition and renewal, ownership transfers, and roadworthiness certification.

“The commissioning of this office here in Yendi aligns with the Authority’s ongoing digital transformation and service expansion agenda, which seeks to improve operational efficiency, strengthen road safety, and provide a seamless customer experience.”

Mr. Seidu urged residents to take ownership of the facility and support its staff to ensure it operates effectively.

“I urge residents to see this office as their own and support the staff here to make it function effectively.”

He also called on staff of the new office to maintain professionalism, integrity, and excellence in their dealings with the public.

“Let me also urge staff of the office to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and excellence in serving the public.”

The Member of Parliament for Yendi, Abdul-Fatawu Alhassan, described the commissioning as a significant milestone for the municipality.

According to him, the presence of the DVLA in Yendi would not only make essential public services more accessible but also contribute to local economic development by making it easier for businesses, commercial drivers, and vehicle owners to obtain licensing and registration services.

He commended the DVLA’s leadership for extending its operations to Yendi and pledged his continued support toward the successful running of the office.

The ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, officials from the Yendi Municipal Assembly, heads of security agencies, representatives of transport unions, members of the business community, and other stakeholders.

The opening of the Yendi office forms part of the DVLA’s broader drive to expand its operations and bring essential licensing and vehicle-related services closer to residents across the country.
