Speaking after the election, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Mercy Korang, expressed her excitement over the successful election of a new Presiding Member.
According to her, the absence of a Presiding Member had affected the smooth running of the Assembly and brought important Assembly business to a standstill.
She explained that without a Presiding Member, the Assembly could face challenges in approving its budget and carrying out other important responsibilities, including activities related to the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).
Hon. Mercy Korang noted that the successful election of a Presiding Member would help the Assembly carry out its mandate effectively and could contribute to accessing resources for development when the necessary requirements are met.
She expressed optimism that the election of Hon. Sonny Hanson would help promote the smooth administration and development of the Fanteakwa South District.
The DCE therefore called on all Assembly Members to cooperate with the new Presiding Member to ensure effective leadership and promote development in the district.
The newly elected Presiding Member, Hon. Sonny Hanson, expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for the confidence they had reposed in him.
He assured the Assembly Members that he would work diligently and would not let them down.
Some Assembly Members also congratulated Hon. Sonny Hanson and pledged to work hand in hand with him towards the development and progress of the Fanteakwa South District.
