Fanteakwa South MP Supports Women Venturing into Male-Dominated Trades.

The Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta, has introduced an initiative aimed at supporting women who are venturing into traditionally male,dominated trades and skilled occupations.

The initiative seeks to empower women who are either undergoing apprenticeship and skills training or are already working in various technical and vocational fields.

Speaking at Nsutam Presby School, where a training workshop was organised for the beneficiaries, Hon. Duke Ofori Atta said his office is committed to encouraging and supporting women who have chosen careers that are often considered to be men’s jobs.

The MP explained that his outfit will continue to engage the women and provide financial support and the necessary tools to help them establish and expand their businesses after acquiring the required skills.

The beneficiaries include women involved in plumbing, carpentry, masonry, tiling, excavator operation, POP and ceiling works, driving, spraying and other technical occupations.
Hon. Duke Ofori Atta encouraged the women to remain focused and give their best during their skills training and apprenticeship.

According to him, many women in such occupations have been left without adequate support in the district, hence the need for the intervention.

He stressed that women are equally capable of excelling in technical and vocational professions, saying, “What men can do, women can do, and in some cases, even do better.”

The initiative is expected to promote women’s economic empowerment, create employment opportunities and encourage more young women in the Fanteakwa South District to pursue technical and vocational careers.
