Ghana Music Awards Europe 2026: Wendy Shay crowned Artiste of the Year as full winners emerge

Ghanaian musicians and rising talents received top honours at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards Europe, with Wendy Shay emerging as the biggest individual winner after being crowned Artiste of the Year.

The awards ceremony took place in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, bringing together Ghanaian artistes, industry stakeholders and members of the Ghanaian music community in Europe.

Wendy Shay’s Artiste of the Year triumph was among the major highlights of the ceremony, which recognised outstanding performers and musical works across several categories.

Other notable winners included Piesie Esther, who was named Gospel Artiste of the Year, while Kofi Kinaata secured the Highlife Artiste of the Year award.

Stonebwoy was also honoured as Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, while emerging star Kojo Blak took home the New Artiste of the Year award.

Wendy Shay secures top prize

Kojo Blak earns New Artiste of the Year honour

Rising musician Kojo Blak was another major winner after being named New Artiste of the Year.

The award comes as recognition of his growing presence in the music industry, with his songs and collaborations helping him attract increasing attention from music lovers.

The honour also marks an important milestone in what is still a developing career.

Established stars also shine

Several of Ghana’s well-known music stars dominated the major categories at the ceremony.

Kofi Kinaata claimed the Highlife Artiste of the Year award, while Piesie Esther emerged as the night’s Gospel Artiste of the Year.

 

Stonebwoy continued his strong run of recognition by winning the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year category.

Black Sherif was also honoured as Male Vocalist of the Year, reflecting his continued impact on Ghana’s music scene.

In other categories, Kweku Smoke won Best Music Video of the Year, while Medikal was recognised for Best Collaboration of the Year.

The 2026 Ghana Music Awards Europe ultimately celebrated a broad mix of established stars, emerging musicians and Ghanaian talents based in the diaspora.
