Julius Anthony, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, has called on the public to prioritise the concerns of teachers whenever issues surrounding their salaries arise, arguing that sympathy should be with teachers rather than the government.
According to him, teachers deserve public support in matters relating to their remuneration, regardless of the government’s position on the issues.
“When it comes to issues of teachers and their salaries, our sympathy must always be with the teachers and not necessarily the government, no matter what,” Julius Anthony stated.
His comments highlight the importance of recognising teachers’ concerns about their salaries and the role they play in Ghana’s education system.

The statement also comes amid broader public discussions about teachers’ welfare, remuneration and working conditions, which remain important issues in the country’s education sector.
