Police Assure Akyem Hemang Community of Justice Over Fatal Shooting Incident

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern South Police Command, DSP David Fianko Okyere, has assured the family, relatives and residents of Akyem Hemang that the Ghana Police Service is working to ensure justice is served following the shooting incident that claimed one person’s life in the community.
Mr .Fianko Okyere appealed to the youth and the general public to remain calm and exercise patience as investigations into the incident continue.

He commended the traditional authorities of Akyem Hemang for their leadership and efforts in calming the youth and maintaining peace in the community, especially during the period when police officers were not immediately present.

According to him, following the incident, the Eastern South Police Command visited the community to help maintain peace and assure residents that thorough investigations would be conducted to bring justice to the bereaved family.
DSP Fianko Okyere disclosed that investigations are ongoing, noting that while some aspects of the investigation are public, others remain confidential to protect the integrity of the process.

He urged the people of Akyem Hemang to have confidence in the Ghana Police Service and allow the police to carry out their investigations professionally.

The Public Relations Officer made the remarks when he spoke on Our Land, Our Future, an environmental programme on Radio1 100.7 FM hosted by Oppong Kyekyeku. The programme focuses on protecting the natural environment and finding lasting solutions to the environmental challenges facing communities.
