Ghanaian hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone has appealed to Sarkodie and Stonebwoy to resolve their differences privately rather than allowing their dispute to play out on social media.

According to the hiplife pioneer, public exchanges between the two artistes could have lasting effects on their relationship, especially as fans continue to fuel the rivalry.

Speaking in a video shared on social media, Reggie said fans often become emotionally involved in celebrity disputes without considering the consequences for the artistes themselves.

He cited the past rivalry between Samini and Shatta Wale, explaining that he chose to engage both musicians privately rather than publicly take sides.

Reggie acknowledged that lyrical battles are part of hip-hop and dancehall culture but said the situation between Sarkodie and Stonebwoy appears to have gone beyond a normal musical rivalry.

“I don’t want that five years from now Sarkodie and Stonebwoy will meet each other and not speak,” he said.

He further warned that extreme fan loyalty could turn the rivalry into violence, particularly if supporters begin developing hatred for one another.

“One day these so-called fans, one will stab the other,” Reggie warned.

The hiplife veteran said Sarkodie and Stonebwoy do not necessarily have to become close friends, but urged them to find a peaceful way to handle their differences.

He stressed that the main concern should be preventing the dispute from escalating into violence among their supporters.

“At the end of the day, the music is supposed to bring us together, not violence,” he added.
