The Chief of Akyem Sokode-Juaso in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, Barimah Dr Kwabena Awuah Parker I, has condemned the alleged unauthorised sale of stool lands by some traditional leaders in the area.

He alleged that some sub-chiefs were using the names of their overlords to sell lands, particularly in Akyem Kukurantumi, warning that the practice could lead to land disputes, litigation and confusion among residents.

Barimah Dr Kwabena Awuah Parker I expressed concern that the alleged activities were depriving farmers of their farmlands, threatening their livelihoods and raising concerns about food security.

“Where do you expect our farmers to farm when you sell their farmlands without the knowledge or consent of your overlord?” he questioned.
