Veteran Ghanaian actor, comedian and media personality Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died after collapsing during a panel discussion in Tarkwa, according to reports.
Dzokoto was said to have been rushed to a hospital in the mining town following the incident but was pronounced dead on arrival. The circumstances surrounding his sudden collapse, including the possible cause of death, were not immediately known.
His reported death was also said to have been confirmed by a source close to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a political party with which he has been associated.
Dzokoto earned widespread recognition in Ghana through his work in comedy, acting and broadcasting. He became a familiar face on television through productions such as the popular series “Efiewura,” which helped establish his reputation as an entertainer.

He also gained prominence as the presenter of “Edziban,” a television programme that showcased Ghanaian cuisine, local food businesses and the country’s rich culinary traditions.
Outside the entertainment industry, Dzokoto pursued a career in politics under the NDC. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general elections but was defeated by the New Patriotic Party’s George Mireku Duker.
His professional career also included radio and television presentation, as well as management roles, allowing him to maintain a strong presence in Ghana’s media landscape.
In September 2026, Dzokoto reportedly spoke about concerns over his health, revealing that he was recovering after undergoing surgery abroad with financial support from businessman Ibrahim Mahama. He had also previously dismissed rumours claiming that he had died.
Further details about the reported incident and the circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately available.
