The Vice President of Ghana has donated GH¢500,000 to the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry in support of its efforts to improve the lives of persons with disabilities across the country.
The donation was announced during the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry’s Day of Help held in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, where persons with disabilities received various forms of support as part of efforts to improve their welfare and promote social inclusion.
Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Advisor to the Vice President and Board Chairman of COCOBOD, represented the Vice President at the event and commended the ministry for its continued commitment to supporting persons with disabilities.
The Day of Help brought together persons with disabilities, religious leaders, volunteers, development partners and other stakeholders to provide assistance and draw attention to the needs and rights of people living with disabilities.

The beneficiaries received various forms of assistance aimed at addressing their needs and improving their quality of life.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo praised the ministry for its dedication to supporting vulnerable members of society, describing its work as an important contribution to building a more inclusive Ghana.
He stressed that persons with disabilities should not be viewed merely as recipients of charity but as individuals with abilities, talents and the potential to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He called for a shift from temporary assistance to sustainable empowerment through education, employment, skills training and economic opportunities.
According to him, society must work together to remove barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from accessing education, securing jobs and participating fully in community life.
He also urged corporate organisations, development partners, religious institutions and individuals to support initiatives that promote the dignity, independence and welfare of persons with disabilities.
The GH¢500,000 donation is expected to support the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry’s ongoing efforts to assist persons with disabilities and strengthen its interventions for vulnerable groups.
The ministry’s Day of Help serves as an opportunity to provide practical assistance to beneficiaries while encouraging greater public participation in disability support initiatives.
The event also reinforced calls for stronger partnerships between government, religious organisations and other stakeholders to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to the resources and opportunities they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
The organisers were commended for their continued commitment to the cause, with stakeholders encouraged to sustain their support beyond the annual event.
