The Abuakwa South Constituency Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Mr Ernest Addison Addo, popularly known as Drogba, has initiated a youth empowerment programme aimed at promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship among young people.

The youth leadership says the initiative is intended to change the narrative by empowering young people to become economically independent, create opportunities for others, and make the NDC more attractive to voters in the constituency.

According to the youth leaders, the programme seeks to move away from a situation where young people depend on political leaders for financial assistance, stressing the need to equip them with the necessary resources to become self-sufficient.

The youth wing has therefore called on young people in the constituency to submit their business proposals and innovative ideas for consideration and possible support under the initiative.

As part of the programme, a symbolic presentation was made to Mr Patrick Frimpong, the Youth Organizer for Polling Station B in Akyem Apedwa Presbyterian, to support the expansion of his auto electrical business.

The presentation included equipment and an undisclosed amount of money to serve as startup capital, with the expectation that the beneficiary would expand his business and create opportunities to positively impact other young people.

The leadership of the Abuakwa South NDC Youth Wing comprises Mr Ernest Addison Addo as the Constituency Youth Organizer, Mr Solomon Nana Frimpong as First Deputy Youth Organizer, and Mr Enoch Amankwaa as Second Deputy Youth Organizer.

The initiative is expected to encourage entrepreneurship, strengthen the economic independence of the youth, and contribute to the development of the constituency.
