Judicial Service Urges Courts to Adjourn Cases as Flooding Disrupts Accra
The Judicial Service has advised judges, magistrates and court staff to prioritise their safety following Monday’s heavy rainfall, which caused severe flooding across several parts of Accra. In a circular issued on Monday, June 29, 2026, Deputy Judicial Secretary Justice Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh announced that the directive was issued on the instructions of the Chief Justice in response to the worsening weather conditions. The circular encouraged judicial officers and staff who had not yet travelled to work to do so only when it was safe, while observing all necessary safety precautions.
