15Km Road In Somanya Worth GHC23.4m To Be Tarred – Transport minister

The Minister of Road and Transport, Hon. kwame Amoako Atta who doubles as the Member of parliament for Atiwa West Constituency on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, has hinted that over 15km roads in Somanya in the Eastern have been picked and work is about starting to see to it being tarred.

According to the minister, the 15km roads comprise of 6.7km of the internal roads in the yet to be University of Environment and Sustainable Development which is worth GHC 12.4m, with the remaining 8.3km roads worth GHC 11m   meaning the 15 km road worth GHC 23.4 million.

He revealed this at Somanya when he joined the political entourage of Nana Akufo-Addo in his 3 day visit in the Eastern Region.

He assured the Traditional rulers of the area that 6 major roads in the town have also been picked and work will commence soon. Hon. Amoako Atta again said unlike the previous administration, whatever road started will be completed before the first term of NPP ends.

“I am happy to inform you that all the internal roads of this University have been picked and totaled 6.7km. we have gone through the procurement process. It is going to cost the government GHC 12.4m. ….6 major town roads have been picked and it is going to cost  GHC 11m total 8.3km”, Hon. Amoako Atta hinted.

the President of Ghana is on a 3 day visit in the Eastern Region and Somanya was the first visit. Akosombo Textiles Ltd was next and would finally close for the first day with a meeting with the MMDCEs at Koforidua.
