The management of the Ashanti School for the Deaf at Jamasi in the Sekyere South district of Ashanti region has renowned its appeal to the government to address infrastructural challenges facing the school.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Vida Aidoo made the appeal to the media that, Students are risking their lives in pursuit of education as they study in a dilapidated school structure that has not seen renovation over 40 years since its inception, and this is making learning and teaching so difficult for the student and teachers of the school.
The situation, according to the headmistress threatens the lives of both teachers and over 500 students population as well as having negative effect on studies.
She mentioned limited accommodation for students and staff due to that most of the teachers have rented houses at nearby communities which is affecting them and all the school vehicles have been broken down, it makes travelling difficult for them and some of the syllables too are unfriendly for the students, example: English languages ( literature).
She therefore appealed to the government and ministry of Education to do something about the situation.
