Universal Multimedia Organized Health Screening and Medication Exercise At Anyinam

Universal Multimedia, the operators of Radio1(100.7) and Ahotor fm (92.3) in collaboration with Blue Cross Foundation with support from Hon. Foster Asante, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Atiwa East constituency has organized a mammoth free health screening and medication exercise on Saturday for residence at Akim Anyinam.

 

 

The exercise which was highly patronized drew people from the sourrounding communities like Kwabeng, Enyiresi, Asaman Tamfoe, Akim Mampong among others were very grateful to the organizers for thinking about their health needs.

 

 

In his speech, the parliamentary candidate said he has partnered with the Blue Cross Foundation for so many years at Tema, Lashibi, Accra and others places so he deemed it prudent to also bring such services to his own people especially at the time when people are getting ready for the Christmas festivities.

“This is historic because you are screened and given drugs at the same time at no cost and it is the first of its kind here” Hon. Asante said.

He also rubbished the assertion that the exercise was an agenda to canvass for votes.

 

 

The Board Chairman of Universal Multimedia, Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, reiterated that, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) they have decided to take care of the health needs of the people, especially the aged hence the exercise. He further said “the health of the citizens is the wealth of the nation therefore the health of the people is very paramount to every nation and corporate institutions”.

 

The president and founder of Blue Cross Foundation, Miss Faustina Gyimah expressed satisfaction with the patronage. “It is good. We didn’t know the turn-out will be high like this. People came more than we estimated” she said.

 

Speaking to the media, a 43 year old Charles Adofo Nkansah said “I have received better treatment and drugs received are better than going to a hospital”.

 

 

The Hon. Ampofo also used the platform to advise all and sundry to eschew all forms of political violence during this year’s election.
