Government Should Refund Menzgold Customers Their Money- MD of Daily Democrat

The Managing Director for Daily Democrat and a Communication Member of the Largest Opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC,  Opare Gyan has said that government should take full responsibilities of the Menzgold Issues because he believe is the government institution that gave Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) the license to Operate even if it was not issued by Bank of Ghana.

He made this revelation on Radio1fm 100.7MHZ, Susubiribi Morning Show on 15th January, 2019, when he was quizzed on the Menzgold Saga and the responsibility of the government to the issue.

According Mr. Opare there should have been a Press Conference by the government on the main reason Menzgold cannot operate to the customers rather than on the bases of not registered with BoG.

He added that he was expecting the Auditor General to Publish the Background check they conducted on Menzgold.

He said now that the damage has already have been caused, it’s the duty of the government to ensure that the customers principle money is refund to them if the government is determined to protect the interest of the citizens.

Mr. Opare said government should have issued a warrant long time ago to seize all the properties of the CEO of the Menzgold if the government is really not in bed with NAM1. Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1 has been in the news for sometime now for allegedly defrauding Ghanaians and the customers of Menzgold are demanding for their investments meanwhile the CEO of Menzgold is arrested in Dudai and this has become an issue of discuss. ).
